This year, for the first time in the history of the IEC, due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the IEC General Meeting will be fully virtual. Briefing paper: A Common Regulatory Framework for Equipment Used in Environments with an Explosive Atmosphere – en, fr, pt, es, zh

This UNECE publication provides a common regulatory framework for Ex areas that recommends the IEC and IECEx as the world’s best practice model for the verification of conformity to International Standards. It can be used by countries that lack regulation in this sector as a blueprint for their regulation, and also for aligning existing national regulations with internationally harmonized best practice.

The framework is also available in Arabic, Chinese, French, Portuguese and Spanish.
